Red Fox (Vulpes vulpes) - booklet stamp

Single from booklet pane (Sn CA 1879a) (Bk 238).

This booklet stamp can be distinguished from the other varieties in that:
1. It has 10 peaks in the perfs along the top edge

2. I.. Read more »t is not perforated exactly 8.5 like the coil stamps and it is really closer to 8.6
Sometime this variety is called "peak at upper left". But looking for that peak is not too helpful to distinguishing the stamp, because the invert die cut coil stamp also has a peak to the upper left, and even the regular coil stamp can have a peak to the upper left if the die was shifted far to the left when it was cut.
